Ecommerce Case Study: RIDEMAKERZ®
Client: RIDEMAKERZ®, a collectible, build-your-own, car maker from Irvine, CA. They have an alliance with Dodge, Ford, General Motors, Mini, Scion and Disney.
Website: www.ridemakerz.com

Challenge: When RIDEMAKERZ approached The Net Impact, they had a website and owned a national chain of retail stores where customers could build and purchase Ridez. But ordering a build-it-yourself car from the website posed a particular challenge. RIDEMAKERZ gives customers the ability to create highly customized collectible cars. It wasn’t enough for customers to select chassis, tires, and accessories then complete the purchase. Customers wanted to see how the product would look after they received the kit and built their car.
Solution: The Net Impact used Microsoft .NET and Portable Network Graphics (.PNG) to create a sophisticated Build Your Ride web application. In six steps, the application allows customers to build their ride from the body to the spoiler. Pricing information updates as the customer adds more accessories or changes part selections. The Ride Builder web application integrates with RIDEMAKERZ shopping cart to facilitate a quick and easy purchase process, and ultimately optimize user experience on the website.
